Matthew was born in Exeter, but grew up in a small town called Honiton. After Sixth Form, he went on to study at the University of Worcester, where he graduated with a B.Sc. in Physical Education and Sports Studies in 2015. During his time at university, Matthew represented the university in a number of sports, including Football, Cricket and Handball.

After graduating, Matthew went on to complete his PGCE in Physical Education at the University of Exeter, graduating in 2016. With Matthew having a love of sport and a passion for teaching, he looked into finding a job as a PE Teacher. He then spent a year working as a Physical Education & Maths Teacher at Wood Green School, Oxfordshire and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Matthew decided to come back to his roots in the south-west where he spent last year as a Graduate Resident Assistant at Taunton School and has now made his way to working at Taunton School International.

Becoming Assistant Housemaster is a new challenge for Matthew and one that he is very much looking forward to. He will continue to teach PE at Taunton School which is very much still an aspiration of Matthews’ going forward in his career.
