Mhairi was born and raised in Carnoustie, Scotland. She has a passion for sport which lead her to study Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Abertay, Dundee. Mhairi graduated in 2016 and went on to work as a Junior School Assistant at Gordonstoun Junior School. This role gave Mhairi a whole range of experiences in both pastoral care and academic assistance.
Mhairi enjoyed coaching and assisting in the wide range of sports and outdoor education that was on offer for the students. Over the summer, Mhairi worked with numerous international students at an International Summer School on the west coast of Scotland. She was responsible for the students’ wellbeing and for co-ordinating exciting evening activities.
Outside of work Mhairi enjoys spending her time playing sports, her main sport is volleyball. She has played volleyball for 6 years and some highlights include representing Scottish Student Sport team and winning the BUCS Scottish 2A Division to gain promotion to Division 1. Whilst at university, Mhairi was voted Club Captain and oversaw the organisation of 5 different volleyball teams. She is also a keen runner and completed her first half marathon in March 2017.
She is excited to begin her role at Taunton School International Middle School as a Graduate Residential Assistant and having the opportunity to get to know all of the students and learning about their cultures.
