Rebecca was born and raised in the South West. She was educated at Queen’s College, Taunton, after which she went on to study at Bath Spa University where she graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Diet and Health in 2013. While at university Rebecca played hockey for both the university and the City of Bath third team.
After graduating Rebecca became a Learning Support Assistant at The Taunton Academy. A position which she thoroughly enjoyed and which allowed her to gain invaluable experience working with secondary school students, and those with SEND needs, while fuelling her desire to work within the educational sector in the future. From here she decided to follow her passion for nutrition by studying an MSc in Sport and Exercise Nutrition at Loughborough University where she graduated in December 2015 with a Merit.
After completing her MSc, Rebecca became an Administration Assistant for a training and consultancy company Proaction Development which allowed her to develop her skillset further. Following this Rebecca wanted to return to the classroom and took up a position at Castle School in Taunton as a Cover Supervisor in April 2018. Here she taught Food Preparation and Nutrition, and gained an insight into the pastoral development and welfare of students. Rebecca loves the challenge but also the innumerable awards teaching brings and seeing how student can flourish both inside and outside of the classroom.
Rebecca joined TSI in Spring 2020 as Assistant Housemistress of Foxcombe House, and is looking forward to this new challenge, while gaining experience of working with international students within a boarding environment.
