Thomas was born in Torbay but was raised in Scotland for the first stage of his education before transferring to Taunton Prep School where he spent three years and then Taunton School where he was in Wills West boarding house.

Following on from his time at Taunton, Thomas attended the University of Plymouth studying Marine Technology. Alongside his engineering degree, Thomas trained as a musical director, involving himself in many different aspects of music, including Musical Theatre, Wind Band and Big Band. He graduated with a B.Eng. (Hons) degree. Thomas was also the longest running musical director for the University of Plymouth Big Band in the society’s history.

Thomas continues his musical theatre work in Taunton as a Musical Director for MAKE performing arts, teaching the vocal work to the students at the company. This also allows him to gain more experience in musical direction.

Away from Taunton, Thomas takes part in 10km and half marathon races to help raise money for charities. Thomas is also a reservist Officer in the Royal Naval Reserves and hopes that this will have given him a skill set that will help him fulfil his time as a Graduate Residential Assistant at Taunton School International.
