As we celebrate our 175th anniversary, we are delighted to invite the Taunton School community to join our celebrations, learn about our past and help us shape the next 175 years.
Over the next year we have a number of opportunities planned for Old Tauntonians and members of the community to return to school and meet up with old friends and staff. Some of the events planned include:

Over the next year we plan to look back on the school’s history and share this material via our social media channels, the school website and at events. We would also love to continue to collect your stories, memories and pictures from your time here.
As we celebrate this significant anniversary and look back to the school’s founding in 1847, it’s important that we remember the principles that underpinned what was to become Taunton School.
The school has been built upon a foundation of philanthropy and offering means-tested Assisted Places remains an essential part of our culture and values. These places are genuinely important and they benefit every student at Taunton School. The school has never had a significant endowment that could be used to provide for those in need, with places having to be funded by generous donors or supported by fee income.
We believe that affordability should not be a barrier to entry and are committed to increasing our Assisted Places Endowment Fund so that more talented pupils have access to a Taunton School education for years to come. This year we hope to develop our Assisted Places endowment and establish a permanent fund that ensures the school can continue to welcome students of all backgrounds.
