Our Vision

One School, Many Pathways is an exciting new vision for Taunton School. It’s a bold and ambitious plan that sets out how our school will look and operate in the future.

One School, Many Pathways will unite all our students, whatever their academic programme, on a single campus. This enhanced site will continue to offer an unrivalled breadth of academic pathways and co-curricular opportunities, ensuring we unearth the potential in every child.

Like all great schools, we cannot hope to realise this vision alone. Our campaign has already received the two largest donations in the school’s history but we still need our entire community to get involved and help us to bring this plan to life.

An Exceptional Vision for Taunton School

Since 2021, we have achieved some remarkable milestones: relocating the Carrington Library to the heart of the school; building a brand new Sixth Form Centre; constructing a contemporary Dining Hall; developing the Green Heart; creating a double Astro Turf complex and improving our Nursery and Pre-Prep buildings.

One School, Many Pathways will lead to benefits for every pupil, transforming our campus.

The story so far

One School

We know how important our houses are to both our pupils and alumni; they are the focal point for so much of school life and the memories that are generated in them last a lifetime. In 2025, we will construct two new boarding houses, uniting all our students on one campus and bringing together more than 60 different nationalities to live and learn as one.

These houses, one for each gender, will become the 6th and 7th senior boarding houses alongside our historic accommodation of Fairwater, Wills East, Wills West, Weirfield and Woodyer. They will accommodate up to 140 UK and international boarders.

Many Pathways

One School, Many Pathways means, for the first time, our pupils will come together on one campus but with the opportunity to choose their own academic and co-curricular pathway. Students will have an unrivalled choice in selecting the academic courses, sports, music, clubs and activities that correspond to their inherent talents and help them achieve their full potential.

By personalising each pupil’s pathway, we ensure Taunton School offers an outstanding education to every child.

Your chance to get involved

One School, Many Pathways allows Taunton to gain from significant educational, recruitment and cost saving benefits. It’s a vision that ensures the school not only secures its financial future but thrives.

I strongly believe that the delivery of One School, Many Pathways with all its academic, pastoral and co-curricular benefits, will ensure that both our current and future pupils become engaging, capable adults who will excel in the global workplace, just like so many former pupils (Old Tauntonians) before them.

To achieve One School, Many Pathways we need our entire community to get involved. You can choose to support the vision with a one-off gift, a regular payment, legacy or by fundraising for us.

Anyone able to support the masterplan with a gift of £200 or more will have the option to be recognised on our new donor wall. There are also naming opportunities within the new boarding houses as well as trees and benches that can be dedicated to loved ones associated with the school.

Recognising your Support

All donors who make a cumulative gift of over £200 over the next two years can choose to have their name listed on the donor board in the new atrium. Those who make cumulative contributions of £1,000 or more can enquire about one of our naming opportunities listed below.
