Our Prep School Boarders had a rather full house in Thone last weekend and we spent plenty of quality time together as a boarding family, taking time out of the school routines.
On Saturday, the children enjoyed a trip to the park with Mr and Mrs Hornsby followed by ‘The Chaplin Challenge’ – buy the most exciting item in Chaplin’s for £1. Ultimately, the children bought snacks! Film night during the evening was also a hit, with the Year 8s having the privilege of watching their own choice of film.
Sunday was action-packed with outside activities in the morning, including ‘Around the World’ tennis matches and the newly established ‘Football Tennis’; it seems that one of our new boarders, Haydn, is a pro at the latter! The children had a great time at Brean Splash during the afternoon with lots of laughter in the pool and more energy expended.
There were some lovely moments throughout the weekend; most notably, hearing pre-bedtime tunes during Year 8 ‘Hub Time’ with the girls singing ‘A Million Dreams’ from the Greatest Showman soundtrack, accompanied by Mr Pettit on the guitar – we may or may not have captured this on film!
