Welcome to International Summer School

It is with much sadness and disappointment that we have taken the difficult decision to cancel some of our Summer School courses for 2021.  The three 2-week courses planned to take place between 3 July and 14 August will no longer run.  However, the 10 and 14-day Pre-Sessional courses due to take place in late August will continue as planned.

We have taken this decision due to the uncertainty surrounding quarantine and travel arrangements in the UK and elsewhere, which are causing considerable delays for students and make it difficult to guarantee the high quality Summer School experience that students and parents expect.  Children on our long-term courses have found these issues very challenging as they returned for the Summer Term and the impact would be greater for students on short, 2-week courses.

We are now planning our 2022 courses and look forward to welcoming students next summer.

12 Students

The maximum class size is 12 students.  This provides groups small enough to ensure individual attention but large enough to facilitate paired and group work essential to creativity and peer to peer learning.

25 hours of tuition

Students receive 25 hours of formal tuition each week. Students study English for 3 hours each day and their chosen course for 2 hours each day.

Full board

The Summer School provides full board accommodation.  This includes well-furnished rooms, shower and bathroom facilities, food and laundry.

Our year round staff

All of our teaching staff are qualified and experienced teachers.  A majority of Summer School staff teach at Taunton School year round.

Over 35 nationalities

In 2019 Taunton International Summer School welcomed over 40 different nationalities.  The School values the diversity in culture, traditions and language that students from six continents bring to the Summer School.
