Taunton School Senior Students Looking In Telescopes

Our Pre-Med Programme aims to give pupils an insight into the careers of medicine, dentistry and veterinary science.

During the course, students meet current professionals, investigate topical issues, get help with work experience and specific preparation for personal statements and interviews.

Pupils in the Lower Sixth interested in these careers meet every week on a Saturday morning and through these sessions turn from interested pupils to informed young adults, ready to embark upon these competitive vocational courses.

The course aims to develop the necessary skills required for aspiring medics, dentists and vets of the future and to guide them through the process of applying to university.

The course will familiarise students with medical terminology, prepare them for interviews, BMAT and UKCAT, develop confident communication and interpersonal skills and encourage independent reading and research.

Our students regularly get offers to all four universities of their choice, and 100% receive at least one offer to interview.
