Prep School Michaelmas Concert

Posted: 23rd November 2022

Taunton Prep School pupils performed in an annual Michaelmas Concert in the chapel on Tuesday evening.

The performance celebrated a variety of musical styles and genres, with particular attention to music from the Baroque period.

The evening saw pupils playing instruments such as the trumpet, trombone, piano, violin and many more. The programme included  an “Ode on St Cecilia’s Day” by British composer Henry Purcell.

All ages and abilities were represented, from pupils in Year 3 who have just begun learning some of their instruments, to pupils in Year 8 who are taking public exams at the highest grades. Everyone performed together in perfect harmony to showcase the musical talent of the Prep School.
