Our bookable Breakfast Club welcomes the early arrival of children between 7:30am and 7:45am for toast and conversation, before starting the core school day at 8:20am.
Those children not joining us for Breakfast Club will arrive between 8:00am and 8:20am, ready to kick-start the day with our whole-school ‘Wake Up Shake Up’ on the playground. After this ten-minute, fun, physical routine, the children move into their classrooms for their targeted, small group phonics sessions. These structured phonics sessions are assessed on a half-termly basis to ensure that the children are placed in the best group for their current stage.
Following this small group work, the children transition into their class lesson time, ranging from Modern Foreign Languages, Science, Literacy, Mathematics, Music, Swimming or Sport. Before resuming additional curriculum time, the children enjoy a healthy snack and playtime at 10:00am.
Pre-Prep children walk through the school grounds to access our new state-of-the-art Dining Hall, where the professional team of catering staff, employed throughout the school, deliver our food service.
After a home-cooked, nutritious, two-course lunch, the children return to the Pre-Prep to either play in the playground, use the bikes, explore our wooded Forest School area or attend a lunchtime club or one-to-one reading session.
The afternoon commences with further curriculum time, a fruit snack and a much-loved story. Children start to go home at the end of the core school day at 3:30pm, or they may move into our after-school provision. From 3:45pm, we host a range of enjoyable clubs, or children may join us for our care provision, before we close at 5:30pm.
After school, the children take a book to share at home with you each evening. Children also bring home high frequency words and spellings to practise on a weekly basis.
