Taunton School has been a thriving community of five schools, offering pupils a wealth of academic, sporting and performing arts opportunities.
Taunton School is home to 8 boarding houses, accommodating up to 400 boarders from across the country and the world. Each house has its own unique style and character, providing a warm and welcoming home-from-home environment. We offer outstanding pastoral care and comfortable accommodation for all our boarders with a dedicated Housemaster or Housemistress responsible for our student’s welfare.
Our next Virtual Open Morning is on Saturday 27th January 2024, it will give you the chance to experience life at Taunton School from the comfort of your own home. The event will be live streamed between 9:00am to 13:00pm BST.
You will get the chance to virtually tour our beautiful 56-acre campus, find out more about our state-of-the-art facilities and hear testimonials from current students. You’ll also be able to meet our Headmaster, teachers and various members of staff in a question and answer session following the tours. It’s a great way to discover Taunton School from afar.

The Taunton School journey starts in Nursery (with babies from six months) and Pre-Prep (with children aged 4 to 7).
Each step of Nursery and Pre-Prep is tailored to your child’s age and stage of development to create a learning environment in which they can truly thrive.

Join Taunton Prep School
Taunton Prep School welcomes children from Year 3 to Year 8, with approximately 300 boys and girls and an average of 17 pupils per class.
We have a dedicated team of teachers who are committed to helping your child reach their full potential, and while we are a non-selective school, we are proud that our results are well above national average.
Our Prep School is also home to ‘Thone House’, our junior boarding school that is home to up to 40 full-time boarders – all of whom are cared for by our team of experienced and friendly staff.

Taunton Senior School welcomes students from Year 9 through to Year 13, we have 540 students in our Senior School of which around 250 are boarders.
We are a non-selective school, which means there are no entrance exams, this leads to a broad cohort with a range of ability. With support from our dedicated teaching and support staff we help our students reach their full potential to achieve excellent results.
Beyond our results we also have outstanding facilities on site, offering a wealth of opportunities in sport, performing arts other co-curricular activities.

Join Taunton International School
For international students applying to Taunton School, there are several options based on age, level of English, prior knowledge, subject preference and future career ambitions.
Taunton School comprises of two International Schools:
- Taunton School International Middle School (for students aged 8-14)
- Taunton School International (for students aged 13-18)
Alternatively, international students with high levels of English (B2+) may consider our Prep School (for 7 – 13 year old students) or Senior School (for 13 – 18 year old students).
